Upload difficulties when using the pop-up menu or tool bar. 2. Drag and drop from the desktop unconditionally overwrote files of the same name on the remote host. Both of these problems are addressed in this release. 18th April 2002 Version 1.00 Service Release 6 ---------------------------------------------- Made some changes to allow files to be dragged from an Explorer window into the RS FTP Remote Files window. This means that files can be dragged from Explorer, or the Desktop, directly to the remote host. This change also addresses a problem that existed previously with recursive directory transfers. 15th April 2002 Version 1.00 Service Release 5 ---------------------------------------------- Impoved the way that RS FTP automatically switches between text and binary modes. Under some conditions earlier releases could select an incorrect mode. 6th April 2002 Version 1.00 Service Release 4 --------------------------------------------- Added compatibility with another variant of server used on some NT systems. 4th April 2002 Version 1.00 Service Release 3 --------------------------------------------- Discovered a "Feature" of Windows XP that makes it not backwards compatible with previous versions of Windows. Rewrote a section of code that is only relevant to un-registered versions of the software running on XP. 3rd April 2002 Version 1.00 Service Release 2 --------------------------------------------- The Uninstaller was missing a DLL, this has been addressed. A new file, with step by step details on how to repair an installation, has now been included in the distribution. 2nd April 2002 Version 1.00 Service Release 1 --------------------------------------------- Added an Uninstall Utility. Put all Help on-line at http://www.research-systems.com/rsftp/help/rsftphelp.htm RS FTP Now has an "Online Help" menu option, which will take you to the above URL. The default window configuration after installation has been changed. 1st April 2002 Release 1.00 --------------------------- Finally completed the Help and compiled the first offical release. 21st March 2002 Release 0.87 ---------------------------- Fixed a problem where the year was reported incorrectly on some server types. Status window now scrolls correctly. Some more help added. 3rd March 2002 Release 0.86 --------------------------- A powerful new lexical analyser has been built into RS FTP. This means that it can now autodetect, and work with, a much wider range of server types. 16th February 2002 Release 0.84 ------------------------------- Some users may have noticed problems with logging in to sites from the Address Book. This was a password problem introduced by the secure encryption algorithm that protects the passwords. This has been addressed and fixed. Error handling has been changed in a fairly extensive manner, especially in the area of connecting to a site and transferring data. The changes mean that the user will see less reported errors. Those that do occur are now handled a lot more gracefully than before. 13th February 2002 Release 0.83 ------------------------------- Changed the timeouts when connecting to a remote site. These were as low as 5 seconds in some instances and causing problems connecting to a site when the Internet connection was a little slow. 12th February 2002 Release 0.82 ------------------------------- Made things a little easier for those with Transparent Firewalls. The Passive mode is selectable without having to specify that you are working through a firewall. 10th February 2002 Release 0.81 ------------------------------- Had a major disaster with the on-line shop front. So had to stop RS FTP development and get the customer interface working again. So the help didn't progress, but RS FTP got a good work-out uploading and downloading pages to the web-site. This identified a few issues, mainly cosmetic, which have been addressed in this release. The address book now brings you back to the last local and remote directory that you were last at for any given entry. 7th February 2002 ----------------- The Program is pretty much finalised. Added a few cosmetic features. Help not yet complete, but pretty much underway. Should be finished about 9th Feb. 4th February 2002 ----------------- Did some work on the Reconnect button. Now it takes you back to the directory in which you lost the connection. Before it reconnected to the default remote directory. 3rd February 2002 ----------------- Initial Release. Unfortunately, this release had to go out without the Help file. Updated software will be available from the website in a few days. Sorry about that, but a couple of unforseen problems came up.
